Drawing life size portraits on walls at the age of four and painting from the age of nine, I have loved art and imagery for as long as I can remember. During my teen years while friends poured over covers 80's starlets, my favorite magazines were Harper's Bazaar and Mirabella. Which led to my romantic vision of living in the big city and working in art and fashion. The optimistic Sagittarius, I tried getting opportunities any way I could. My friend and boss from my high school part time job at a Chiropractor's office introduced me to a friend at Giorgio Armani and the rest is history.
20 years of experience across Merchandising, Sales, Advertising, Public Relations/ Marketing,Magazines, Styling, Production and Art Direction has led me to this moment. The dream of this site has been in my head and heart for years. Wanting to take the experience and love of magazines and imagery to the modern digital experience.
The best takeaway from a panel discussion years ago stayed with me.
If your endeavor is original and true to who you ultimately are (not emulating anyone else), put it out there and hopefully other people will love what you love too.
I hope Curatorially resonates with you.
In sixth grade, I got my first camera while on vacation in Hong Kong, a Pentax ME.
My first published photos were in my seventh grade yearbook.
I never thought of photography as a career until I went to visit my parents in Milan while enrolled at Johnson & Wales. Where I was pursuing a degree in hotel management so that I could surf as much as possible.
After a few years of assisting some great and not so great photographers, I went out on my own. While shooting for various designers and publications, I also worked as a technical producer through many seasons of NY Fashion week. Gaining insight to a whole other facet of the fashion world that has influenced me and been incorporated into my work.
I still surf and live in New York City with my partner Lulu Chen and our dog Ryder.
